Home School: Koala Crate Review

Here's one from the archives! A favorite Koala Crate of ours.  This was the playdough box and boy, did we love this one. It's four years later and we still have some of these tools.  I don't have many comments for this review as I started it 4 years ago. But the pictures speak for themselves.

Stash Shot: Back to School Edition

August is our home school break. But I'm also using it to gear up for the upcoming year. Since Cora is only 3 this school year, we won't be doing a lot of tradition school looking activities.  On the agenda: gymnastics, dance, circle time (see our circle time book? I'll be pulling mostly from that).  Lots of coloring, sensory play, walks. Field trips to Pope Joy Hall for their School Time Series events. The block crayons? For Momma. Taking some Earth Schooling drawing courses to prep for the future. And of course some organizing materials. And modeling wax.

Home School Update: September Circle Time

I'm planning our circle time for Tuesday and Thursday mornings, late. After my workout and Cora's breakfast.
The meat of our circle times comes from  Movement Journeys and Circle Adventures by Nancy Blanning and Laurie Clark.
For September our circle time will be Grandpa's Farm and the Carrot.  I will be adding a little more of the circle each day throughout the month. I divided the circle time in the book to roughly 6 days, so I can add a little bit each time.  It is too long for me to memorize all at once, and this way we will build anticipation through out the month as the store of the carrot is resolved.

Additional resources: Stories from Aesop's Fables.

Additional Activities: We'll be working on rolling and throwing balls and bean bags during our circle time to improve her gross motor and hand eye coordination.
